NEURAL NETWORK TOOL

 

OVERVIEW

Created an integrated development environment for scientists to streamline their coding of spiking neural networks.  Collaborated with a team of user experience designers for user research, visualizations of current workflow, experience prototypes, and solution design.

 

 CHALLENGE

Needed to simplify a very complicated work flow and knowledge domain space into an easy to use environment so the scientists could focus on their work and not a potentially complex software experience.

Process

 

Participated in several contextual interviews of neural network scientists to understand current processes, pain points, opportunities, and preferences.  Observed participants in their own environments and researched competitive products.  Created low-medium fidelity prototypes to help prove out concepts with users.  Co-designed and iterated wireframes with participants.          Delivered style guide and graphic assets to create a consistent look-and-feel across the product and worked with developers to implement designs for release.

Created mood boards to get stake holders initial buy-in.  After initial visual deliverable sign-off, created final screens and prepared graphic assets for development.
